Privacy Statement

Getchy.com is a product of Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose's CDMedia.Studio.
This website policy is intended to respect and protect the privacy and safety of its visitors and teen producers. This policy has been designed to comply with the 1998 Children's Online Policy Protection Act.

• We will not collect any personally identifiable information from visitors to our site. Personally identifiable information includes but is not limited to last names, school location, or addresses.
  
• If a child sends an e-mail with a question, comment or submission to Getchy.com we will respond using his or her email, but will not store it for future communications or supply it to any third party.
  
• With the child's submission we ask for first name, age, and a parent's
  e-mail address. If the child is under 13, we will collect parent permission offline (postal mail/fax) before posting stories or artwork to the site. We will e-mail a permission slip to the parent, along with a copy of the submission. The permission will have to be printed and signed by the parent then faxed or mailed back to us.
  
• Stories, artwork, comments, or questions posted to our site will be identified by first name and age only. Any story or piece of artwork that contains personally identifiable information within the content of the piece will be edited before posting to the site.
