A Note to Teachers and Parents
Getchy.com is a product of Children's Discovery Museum's
CDMedia Studio.
It is a creative forum for youth 11-16 to learn the basics
of online publishing. This online Zine not only teaches participating
youth necessary
skills, but offers them a voice, online. Getchy.com is written
by teens for teens, and some content may be inappropriate
for younger audiences.
Kids from all over Silicon Valley bring their various backgrounds,
creative abilities, ideas, skills and enthusiasm together
to produce this Zine. In order to create this issue,
kids have helped
each other
learn html, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash, and Adobe
Illustrator. We will produce a new issue this coming
school year and hope
to expand our community as we go.
The purpose of the site is to offer a venue for youth to
publish their creative efforts and to offer the tools and
the knowledge
to do that
on their own. In addition we encourage participation from
visitors to the site in the way of submissions of artwork,
stories, digital
media, comments and questions. Please see our privacy
statement for more information.
If you know any youth who are interested in participating
in the production of Getchy.com, please contact:
